Exodus 14:13-14 (NLT) “But Moses told the people, ‘Don’t be afraid. Just stand still and watch the Lord rescue you today. The Egyptians you see today will never be seen again. The Lord himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.'”
I was recently reminded about the story of when Moses led the children of Israel out of Egypt to the Promised Land. Soon after Pharaoh let them go, he and his army pursued them to kill them all. The Israelites were scared and angry when they realized they were caught between the Red Sea and the fast approaching Egyptian army. They saw no way out. Moses had to reveal to them that the very Egyptians that pursued them would be destroyed and that God would fight for them, they wouldn’t have to do a thing but trust Him.
It made me think that sometimes, in the midst of trying dilemmas or bad situations, we get down because we can only see the problem in hot pursuit behind us and a vast ocean of impossibilities before us. But, when presented with temptation, God always provides a way out. When we are in the midst of a storm, He always has an escape or haven for us to protect us from certain demise. We have to remember that He wants us to not only survive but to be successful in life. He doesn’t guide us far in life only to abandon us in the midst of trouble.
Don’t allow yourself to get sucked into despairing over issues. Don’t allow yourself to get depressed because you keep making the same mistake over and over. Remember that God is here to help you. Rely on His strength everyday, every moment, and every second. Commit yourself to making good choices and keep your head up. You have the power (in Him) to truly overcome and be successful. Believe it!
